Amy Anderson

Amy, originally from Lee's Summit, Missouri, developed a strong interest in health and wellness at a young age, driven by her passion for dance and recognition of the connection between health and performance. After high school, when she realized she would no longer dance competitively, she was determined to maintain an active lifestyle. Continuing her journey, Amy pursued higher education at the University of Missouri, where she graduated with a degree in nutrition and exercise physiology, complemented by a minor in psychology. While in school, she took her first steps in the fitness industry by working as a group fitness instructor at MizzouRec. This experience allowed her to apply her studies in a practical setting and ultimately paved the way for her career as a personal trainer. As her career unfolded, Amy's path led her to diverse settings, where she worked as a personal trainer with professional athletes, children, and within clinical environments. Through these experiences, she developed a profound understanding of the significance of functional movement in improving the quality of life for people of all age groups. Amy sees exercise as a comprehensive tool with benefits that extend far beyond the gym. Her mission is to help individuals bridge the gap between the gym and their daily lives, unlocking their fullest potential. When Amy’s not in the gym, you can find her playing a round of golf, reading at a coffee shop, or walking with her dog.

TURNING POINT

The gym can be intimidating, and I recall feeling unsure and self-conscious during a college exercise prescription project. I asked a friend for help with unfamiliar exercises, and initially, I was embarrassed by my struggles, even resorting to pretending completion. However, I knew this method wouldn't get me far in the health industry. So, I confronted my fear and started in my apartment complex's gym, gradually building confidence. Over time, I realized exercise offered more than weight loss - it provided energy, mental clarity, and a desire to improve my health. This transformation motivated me to seek knowledge and work in various gyms during college. I learned that it's okay to seek assistance and that you don't have to embark on your fitness journey alone. I'm grateful for the guidance of health and fitness experts who have helped shape my path. While confidence in the gym remains a challenge, the crucial reminder is that you're not in competition with anyone but yourself.

MOTIVATION PASSION

My purpose is to empower individuals and reveal their untapped potential, not only in the gym but also in their day-to-day lives. I am dedicated to helping those with limited or no prior gym experience, or those who have been away for a while. I aim to provide a welcoming service that dispels the idea that the gym is intimidating. Instead, it can be a place to build confidence, a refuge from daily pressures, a community hub, and more.
